12 Days of Cookies
You could choose to make these cookies for the Christmas holiday, or you could just make them for twelve random spectacular days of the year. I’m a big fan of cookies in general, and love the variety that this recipe round up provides. There are rolled cookies, sandwich cookies, drop cookies, chocolate, no chocolate, fruit filled, dusted, iced, you name it. There’s bound to be a cookie in here for your cookie monster!
Alfajores
Alfajores should definitely be a part of your cookie repertoire. Alfajores are thin sandwich cookies with dulce de leche sandwiched between two delicate, melt-in-your-mouth butter cookies. They are really delicious and really very simple to make.

Raspberry Cream Cheese Thumbprint Cookies
This raspberry cream cheese thumbprint cookie recipe takes your regular thumbprint cookie and elevates it to another level in the world of cookies. The addition of cream cheese to the thumbprint, along with the crunch of toasted nuts around the outside really makes it something special.
Chocolate Crinkle Cookies
If presented with a tray of cookies at Christmastime, chocolate crinkle cookies are one of the first that I will reach for. (The other is shortbread!) The dusting of powdered sugar which looks so much like snow always makes me think of winter and the holidays.

Chocolate Chip Cookies
It may not scream “Holiday!”, but my favorite cookie is the classic, tried and true chocolate chip cookie – a basic cookie dough with chips (or better yet, chunks) of chocolate throughout. So, it will always earn a place in any list of cookies for me!

Pignoli Cookies
Of all the holiday cookies on platters around the holidays, pignoli cookies might be one of the easiest to make and they are flourless, which will please your friends who are gluten-free and looking at all the rest of the cookies on the holiday platter with envy.

Brownie Brittle
Ok… this might not be a cookie by definition, but it is a delicious snack-able treat for any chocolate lover. It has crunchy outer edges but is tender in the center so people can choose the type of brownie they like. Top it with toffee bits, chopped nuts, chunks of caramel or even crushed candy canes.

Nanaimo Bars
Nanaimo bars aren’t cookies either, but they are likely the first dessert nibble to disappear at any Canadian bake sale, holiday celebration or any pot luck party. So, they have earned a place in the list too. If you haven’t had one before, let me invite you to do so.
