Classic for a Reason…
It’s hard not to love mac & cheese! Even in its most basic form, it is so delicious, filling, comforting… I could go on, but I’d get really hungry. Mac and cheese is like an omelet, a pizza, scrambled eggs – it’s a blank slate recipe to which you can add other ingredients and make a hundred different meals. The 9 amazing mac & cheese recipes below are a few of my favorite combinations that I’ve had over the years. Some of the cheese sauces include the trifecta of cheeses – Cheddar, Gruyère and Parmesan – while others change the cheeses to suit the dish. Some of the recipes include classic macaroni, while others level up to cavatappi or penne. What all these recipes have in common is that you will want a second helping!
Enjoy!
Basic Macaroni & Cheese
Basic Macaroni and Cheese made from scratch is immeasurably better than anything you can buy in a store. Once you have the basic recipe down, you can add ingredients to the dish to customize it to the occasion or just to your own taste.

Beef and Macaroni
This is not really mac and cheese, but it might be my most popular recipe and it’s pretty close. It’s similar to what many Americans from the northeast would call “American Chop Suey” and can easily be adjusted with different spices and vegetables. Make it in the pressure cooker or on the stovetop.
