Pre-heat the oven to 425ºF.
Trim off the tough ends of the asparagus. Drizzle with olive oil, toss to coat each spear and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Place the asparagus on a baking sheet and roast in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes, rotating the spears a few times during the grilling process.
Transfer the oven-roasted asparagus to a serving platter and immediately sprinkle the toasted breadcrumbs on top. Gently toss to coat the asparagus with the crumbs and serve warm or at room temperature.
