Shishito peppers are becoming much easier to find in the supermarkets these days, and if you're lucky enough to have them in your store, grab them. They are super easy to prepare, whether in your air fryer (as per this recipe), or in a cast iron skillet or on the grill.

coarse sea salt

Pre-heat the air fryer to 390ºF.

Toss the shishito peppers with the oil and salt. You can do this in a bowl or directly in the air fryer basket.

Air fry at 390ºF for 5 minutes, shaking the basket once during cooking.

Turn the peppers out into a bowl. They should be a little charred in places.

Squeeze some lemon juice on them and season them with coarse sea salt.

These should be served as finger foods. Pick the pepper up by the stem and eat the whole pepper, seeds and all. Watch for that hot one!
You can’t always find shishito peppers, but if you do see them in your grocery store, grab them! A shishito pepper is a small finger-sized pepper that is usually mild and sweet, but every once in while, you get a hot one. It makes for a fun and exciting appetizer snack!
