When you cook broccoli in an air fryer, you get tender stems with crispy tips on every floret. It’s a fun mix of textures. Topped with a little sweet soy drizzle and you’ll have a nice mix of textures AND flavors.

broken in florets (about ½-pound or 4 cups)

Combine the sugar and water in a medium saucepan and stir until the sugar dissolves. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium high heat. Lower the heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and add the soy sauce, peppercorns, cinnamon stick, sliced garlic, ginger and green onions. Return the pan to the heat and reduce the liquid to a syrupy consistency.

Pre-heat the air fryer to 400ºF.

Toss the broccoli florets with the olive oil and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Air-fry the broccoli at 400ºF for 10 minutes, shaking the basket several times during the cooking process.

Serve the broccoli with warm with the sweet soy sauce drizzled over top.
